The Civic Chamber publishes the rating of the kindest cities in Russia
The Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation summed up the results of the first month of the All-Russian environmental campaign #MarathonOfGoodDeeds
The Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation published a rating of the kindest cities of Russia, composed as part of the All-Russian ecological project #Marathon of Good Deeds.
According to the results of the first month, St. Petersburg leads, Kazan ranks second, and Khimki is the third. The top ten of the most kind cities were Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Saratov, Perm, Omsk and Cherepovets.
As in the previous year, the rating is based on the number of good deeds, performed by citizens of Russian cities as a part of the project. The full version of the rating is published on the site of the campaign.
«The results of the first month of our project #MarathonOfGoodDeeds showed that people are extremely concerned about the environmental condition and are ready to make their own efforts and to use their own resources to solve environmental problems. Up to date, more than 60.000 people from 1.300 settlements have already taken part in our action» - claimed Elena Sutormina, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, initiator of the project.
According to her, the most popular tasks of the campaign were drawing up of a national map of receiving centers for recyclable materials, cleaning of surrounding territories and creation of ecological posters.
«However, we noted that people have little information about legal mechanisms for solving certain environmental problems. For that reason, for our part, in the frame of the project, we will continue to work on the creation of various reference materials», - Sutormina added.
Also, as Sutormina noted, each city still has the opportunity to join the campaign up to June 1 and get into the top ten of the kindest cities of the country.
Let us recall the All-Russian environmental campaign #MarathonOfGoodDeeds, organized by the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation together with the Russian Patriotic Center, the Russian Peace Foundation and the Association of Volunteer Centers was launched on March 1. The main goal of the action is the formation in society of a norm of responsible attitude to nature and the involvement of the maximum number of Russians in charitable and volunteer activities.
